In the fallout of the Ensamble closure (don’t worry they’re finishing Halo Wars before they’re gone) some details have surfaced of a Halo MMO game they were working on. That’s right…a Halo MMO. In the first leak only 3 pieces of concept art were released, but late yesterday a whole TON were dropped on the public.
From what I’ve seen I’m impressed with some things and I’m a bit confused about others. First off the classes, armors, and most of the weapons look like they belong in the Halo universe. They do go along with something that you would see in the previous Halo games.
It starts getting weird when you start looking at some of the other concepts such as the mount. This is 2552 or later…no one rides an animal around. If Microsoft follows through with this project in the future I hope they realize that. Any “mount” if you would even call it that should be a Warthog, Mongoose, or similar type of vehicle. You also shouldn’t have to train to use it. If you know WoW you don’t get a mount until a certain level and even then you have to train to use it. I think you should be able to drive anything you want period. Training should come in when you reach a certain level to fly vehicles. The vehicles and ships that were included in the art all looked pretty legit.
Some of the opposition also look weird. There’s a warthog type animal in the screenshots that shows 2 levels of the beast. One looks fairly normal while the other has many glowing eyes. Where the hell has anything like that ever been mentioned in the Halo universe? The same goes for the demon like creatures. If you’re going to make a Halo MMO you need to have it Humans vs Covenant (Alliance vs Horde) and have similar NPC enemies.
Expect a roundtable discussion on the possibility of a Halo MMO in ATF’s first podcast…wait…podcast? Yes.
Hit the jump for the concept art!
This guy sings some of the most badass Halo songs I have ever heard!
Here are his other songs:
For those of you who enjoy screenshots, or Panoramas in particular, then this is the site for you: Haloramics. A part of the Tied The Leader webring, the site includes tutorials for normal Panoramas and ‘Planetoids‘. Thanks go to bs Angel for turning me onto this site.

I just have to spotlight this post over on Hawtty McBloggy. Unfortunately
I’m not home to enjoy the festivities of Bungie day, but I do have to say that
she put together one heck of a tribute.
From Hawtty McBloggy
Upon browsing Kotaku today I was very frightened to find an article about information a tipster gave them. If you’re hardcore Bungie and don’t want Microsoft to ruin the franchise you might want to stop reading right now. You’ve been warned.
Microsoft released a marketing survey that makes people like me cringe with horror. Halo Racing? Give me a break.
So what are your thoughts?
They like us … They really like us … :)

Let me be the first to announce our newest affiliate … The 9th Player.
These guys and gals are HUGE. It says so on their site so it has to be true. They even have an option when you post on their site to RICO (Hugefy) your font. I haven’t tried it yet (I’m a bit timid when it comes to that kind of thing) but it is a great idea none-the-less. These are a great group of people and I highly suggest that you check out their site and make some new friends.
They stole from us … now I’m going to steal from them … Paybacks a B*tch.
The 9th Player is an active, multi-faceted gaming clan and community. While we get involved in many different games on the Xbox tree-sitty, most of what we do centers around Halo 3.
T9P has been around in the community since late 2007. While the clan is relatively young compared to others, we have made a solid name for ourselves by holding true to the basic idea that the game can be more than simply thinking up comebacks to insults from pre-teens. Our clan prides itself in our sportsmenship, and our reputation for just being a fun-as-it-gets group of gamers.
I was first introduced to T9P through a lovely young lady named KTK8, the girl so nice they named her twice or something along those lines. She seemed nice enough to go and check out her site (Translation: ZOMG a girl on XBL … Maybe she will go out with meez), so I did and was met with a number of PMs from people swearing they had no knowledge of Firearms, Tobacco or Alcohol (Not sure why … 0_o … Apparently it has something to do with our name or something, but I digress).
I then proceeded to go all E.T. on them and demanded to speak with their leader guy. Turns out, Rugtoad (Weird name to some, but I have a guy named Goatrope on my Friend’s List, so I’ve seen what the XBL Random Name Generator can kick out), was a pretty cool guy, but his 360 bricked, which means M$ hates him, so I’ll reserve judgement until I speak to the guy in person. I hope to meet this Rico guy soon too and ask him all kinds of HUGE type questions.
In all seriousness though, The 9th Player is a great group of people to hang around with and play games. Their name had different meanings to all their members, but it all comes back to their community as a whole and how they all love the interaction with one another. Go check out their site The 9th Player, Register on their forums, meet some new people, make some new friends, and continue to just have fun and play the games we all know and love to play. See you all around.
We’ll its that time again. With the beginning of every month we pick one member who stands out. A person that has contributed to the community in a special way or simply has been around. This month we passed over our regular members and looked at the Staff Memebers. They have been around the longest and our choice, to our knowledge and records, We Present to you:

BLACKWATER154!!
Now, He has been around on this site for as long as I can remember. He has been an active on the site in the form of SOTW and Fort Contests. As well as an actor in our movies. His sense of humor livens up the PGL and he is just a great and easy person to get along with! I’m glad to have him as my friend and im sure that others feel the same.
I’m sure I could have said more, but thats not how I roll. Comment and Tell him what YOU like about him!!
You all remember the famous Traffic Cone Kill Video, right? Well, CollegeHumor.com has re-opened the case to detective analysis, and has produced a pretty funny video. Go watch it Here.
The guys over at Rooster Teeth have released the 1st episode of their new machinima series: Red vs Blue Reconstruction. I’m not going to give out any details, but it appears that they’re tying together all of the loose ends they had left off from RvB, Out of Mind, and Recovery One. Check out the episode Here.
