First I would like to say how happy I was with the turnout for this contest. We had almost 50 participants submitting at least 1 poster. I can’t thank you all enough for making this such a fun and successful contest. So, without further ado, let’s get to the important stuff.

The first winner is Kohato with “Bubble Shield”

As soon as I saw this picture I knew it had a chance of being one of the 3 winners. The angle, and shear hilarity factor of the picture made me laugh for a good 10 minutes after I saw it.

The second winner is klammy with “Evasive Maneuvers”

null

Again, framing of this screenshot was key. I love the fact that you got the Warthog on the wall with all 4 wheels touching.

The third winner is chromeratt with “Aerial Insertion”

While I didn’t care to much for the font, the name for the picture was perfect.

Congrats to all 3 winners. You will be sent your codes in an E-mail and PM on the ATF site later on today. Use them wisely and go buy the Legendary Maps if you haven’t already. Hope to catch you online sometime. Again, thank you to everyone who made this contest so successful. Hopefully, we can get some sponsors so we can continue to hold contests like this in the future with bigger and better prizes.

Last but not least I had to include some Honorable Mentions.

Here is one from our very own Goose called “Driving”

Here is one from Xasrai called “Rockets”

Here is one from ArFo SaUcE called “Saving the Flag”

Finally, here is one from Bones_153 called “The Javelin”

Arm The Flag prides itself on the fact that we are a very diverse group of gamers that all love to play. Due to the fact that we are so diverse we have 2 main categories of players: Laid back players, and Hardcore players. Both of these classifications of gamers means that they have very different mindsets. Laid back players like BTB games, they don’t care if they really win or lose, and they’re playing to have fun. Hardcore players love competitive gameplay such as MLG or BR starts, they strive to get their 50s, and they hate to lose. In order to serve everyone’s interests we have created (they’ve actually kind of been there for a while) 2 divisions. We have the Easy Company Divsion which is the laid back division. Most ATF members fall into this division. The new(ish) division is the Flagtacular Division. These are our hardcore “MLG type people” that love to win. Running this division as the General will be our very own Preacher. We haven’t decided on a captain yet so stay tuned. If you are interested in joining ATF hop on our forums and let us know!

ATF has attended many Frag a Friend events but this is the first time I’ve really sat down and worked on a good writeup. I do have to say that out of all of the Frag a Freind events I have attended this was one of the most fun ones. Representing ATF were myself, J Pice, and Shadow.

Game 1: Duals

I’m not gonna lie this is the first real duals game I have played in Halo 3 that could be compared to the awesome times I had on Halo 2. Rocking the good ole black and blue combo brought back many good memories.

Game 2: Infection

Whoever made this game should be commended. When it starts the map gradually gets darker and darker. When it reaches its darkest the zombies are released into the map to feast on the humans. I took refuge in a hallway of boxes that had a turret at the end with Shadow. Everything was fine and dandy until shield doors kept spawning in front of us as time went on making the gap between the zombies and us smaller. We were the last 2 standing but the doors were too close to hold anyone off. The next round I got a little cocky and taunted the zombies in their cage…little did I know J Pice pulled some hardcore super ninja moves and got out to assassinate me.

Game 3: KMom on top Acid??

I’m still not sure what the hell is up with the name of the game, but I do know it was just one giant clusterfuck. Just imagine all of us spawning in bottom Froman with no way out and a bunch of needlers and explosive weapons. The picture explains it all.

Game 4: The Roast

This game was brought to us by J Pice. Most people in ATF have played this game before. Everyone spawns inside a floating cage while people outside try to incinerate the people inside.

Game 5: King

Now I don’t remember the name of this game, but I know it came from ForgeHub. It’s the one with the platform in the middle with all the flying boxes and other debris that knocks you off while in the hill. There was plenty of fun as people were dominated by spools and forklifts. (Acid lol)

Game 6: King Again…

This game was a pretty much run of the mill KotH game. The memorable part is conveniently illustrated for you in the screenshot above. Bubble Shield: You’re Doing It Wrong.

Game 7: Spike Ball

By this time it was getting a tad late and people were getting a little out of hand. This spike ball game turned into a FFA of people running around the map and (as you can see) the invasion of the field by an elephant.

Game 8: Plasma Ball

This is a paintball style game with a limited number of lives, 1 shot kill, and plenty of places to hide. It took a bit for everything to catch on, but it was a fun set of rounds.

Game 9: Laser Tag

This game was LOADS of fun. It’s an old school classic that Black0ut created wayyy back in the Halo 3 beta. It was full of some crazy moments including me getting completely owned…as pictured above.

No … The title is not missleading. Arm The Flag will be holding a contest to test out all your photoshopping skills. But a little back story is needed.

Last night, whilst playing the Halo 3 with some friends from Buddy System Gaming , there were quite a few incidents where the words “You’re doing it wrong” came up. Friendly banter was exchanged, by that I mean reminded BSG Surgeon about his “amazing” jumping abilities, and the idea was tossed around to make some Motivational Posters out of some of the events that had occurred. My mind happened to work overtime for the first time in a long time last night so I decided to put together this little shindig.

Here are the rules. They are really really simple. All you have to do is create a Motivational Poster with the subtext “You’re Doing it Wrong.” You must be the person who takes the picture, so no stealing pics off various Halo 3 Screenshot sites. Here are some examples of what I mean.

You are allowed to submit 2 posters. If you want to make it easier on yourself, you can use various sites to make the posters for you as long as you supply the screenshot. At the end of the month, I will be selecting the top 3 submissions and the winners will recieve 1600 MS Points. Submit all the posters here in the thread on our forums. Now have fun people and come up with some funny submissions.

ATF participated in their first clan challenge since they have made a switch over to a clan from a machinima only group. We had the privelage to play with some of the members of Halo3.Junk.ws, one of the largest and most known Halo 3 stats site. You’ll find their stat sigs on just about any Halo related forum on the internet.

If I could sum up the challenge in 1 word it would be domination. I only wish we were on the other side of the domination.

Game 1: Slayer BR on The Pit
Game 2: CTF on The Pit
Game 3: Slayer BR on Standoff
Game 4: Assault on Narrows
Game 5: Team SWAT on Blackout

Now you might be wondering why the hell I would be posting the stats when we got dominated sooo bady, but here’s why. Even though we lost we were having a great time doing it. It was nice to get out of the hassles of match making. Just remember if you want to challenge ATF we’re a little more laid back. Thanks H3J for a good time!

If you want to play with ATF or challenge us hop on our forums!

So mom was right all along…wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your hair and you can make friends! So there’s this group out there named C1nder and they’re BAMFs. We played them in a match back in the day when we only made machinima and got our faces stomped into the curb, but hey it was at least fun. Anyways welcome these people into our awesome group of friends and go check out their site!

MoTM: September Edition

Posted by Leader of Blind | No Comments

Category: Arm The Flag

Hey everybody, sorry for the absence of MoTM for the past couple of months. Summer was pretty hectic, most of us finding ourselves out doing a lot of other stuff. Anyways, away with the old news and on to the new. The ATF Member of the Month is a member of our website who a group of us see as really standing out. Whether it be by helping out with the site, giving us advice, or just hanging around and being an exemplary fellow. Now, with out further ado, the Member of the Month is:

ODST ALPHA

Alpha’s been a friend of the clan for a very long time, playing with us on Halo and hanging around the forums from time to time. He recently took the plunge and decided to officially join ATF. Since then he’s stepped up his activity on the forums, and have made it impossible for us to regret recruiting him. So that is why he’s our Member of the Month!
